The medium-blue metal livery of this historical D-kind identifies it as a member of Ecurie Ecosse, or "crew Scotland". Based in Edinburgh, David Murray's all-Scot crew was said to be the most successful non-public sports activities vehicle racing team throughout most of its years of campaigning XK120s, C- and D-kind, and Lister Jags among 1952 and 1971. The crew changed into famous for triumphing Le Mans in 1956, saving Jaguar's honor after its manufacturing facility vehicles failed to complete the race. This D-kind took sixth inside the 500 Miglia de Monza, a special components race conceived to pit the best Indy 500 American drivers in opposition to their eu opposite numbers. Most of the Euro manufacturing facility teams boycotted the race, leaving Ecurie Ecosse to stand the Yanks.
